alright, new feelings.
I'm happy my brother is here. we've had some fun already and he's only been here two and a half days.
I'm interested in how the rest of the week will go.
I'm releaved that my assumptions were wrong, although my assumptions lead to me actually realizing what is best for me.
I'm a little sad, but that was to be expected.. I am a girl :)
I am excited for my parents to get here, and for Bud to be here. All of the above are great.
I'm nervous for Friday with bouncer.
I'm confused of what I'm doing right now, but I'm sure I'll figure it out.
I'm less sad with my brother here.
I'm ready for something.. I just don't know what yet.
Is it weird that I feel the
need to listen to songs that make me feel sad? yes or no.
haha... so wrong.
Me and my brother have had so much fun... House M.D. Season 4, Shots, A Lot of Beaches, Brunch/
AYCE Sushi/Italian, Trying to find a fast food restaurant open past 1:30am, Tamale Making, Family time, Sarah & David's House, Video
Juegos, etc etc. So much more to come, I can't wait. Until then... we have Ugly Sweater Bowling tomorrow night.. have to go shopping tomorrow.. Salvation Army, here we come!

Happy Thanksgiving! I am thankful for:
1. My family- they make it so hard to enjoy holiday's like this, and it is only because I miss them extremely! I talked with them for a couple hours today, and it only made me sad that I am so far away from the people I love. It's hard not to be there for my brothers, especially since I am the "wise older sister", but I know that they are the best brothers I could ever have asked for and that we have the rest of our lives to stay close with each other. My parents are so supportive of what I do and are so happy that I love my new life, but I could tell my mom was sad I couldn't help her set the table today, and enjoy making all the silly appetizers we found on
FoodNetwork.com... My dad even referenced the commercial where the daughter calls the parents to wish them a Happy Thanksgiving, and ends up on their door step to surprise them. I wish I could even come close to doing that, but I will see them over the Christmas holiday (so excited!!!!) Today is a time to be with family and even though I miss them so much, I am
retardedly thankful that they are in my life.
2. My Friends- New and Old friends make me thankful today. I can't explain how I will never find friendships like I have with my friends from
Naperville. Although I have very few that are still extremely close, I know that the friends I have kept even living so far away, are ones to have forever and I am extremely lucky for Savannah, Karleen, and
Tisleen. Now my newer friends I have made from living here, are a good distraction from missing my other friends. I am so lucky to find genuine people that I care about and honestly care about me too. Plus they make the whole "going out" thing a lot more fun than if I was all by myself :P
3. Stupid Late Night Shows- Since I am rarely home during the day or even the night, I get a chance to only enjoy watching the late night shows on
tv. They usually are the ones that help me fall asleep or usually put me to sleep. Is it sad that I enjoy
HGTV so much because of
Property Virgins and
Lifetime because they always have
How I Met Your Mother on when I get home? I think since I've been allowed to have a
tv in my room (woo
hoo 21st Birthday present) I now can only fall asleep to the sound of a sitcom or infomercial.
4. Bud- Although we aren't necessarily close to each other
distance wise, I find comfort in knowing that if I've had a good or bad day, I can share it with someone who is actually listening and usually can brighten the bad days quite quickly. I smile more when he's around.
5. Recipe Books- Once I finally have a lifetime to practice these delicious meals I find in magazines, online, or from my own mom's
recipes, I will probably be a
gourmet chef. My speciality? Beef & Potato tacos... YUM. Maybe not
gourmet, but I never was a 5 star kind of girl.
6. California- particularly Southern California for now, but hopefully I'll have a chance to experience the beauty of my
birth town in Northern Cali sometime soon. Even though CA has broken my face out and experienced my first car accident with me, I still enjoy every minute I have here. Now that I live close to the beach, I am even more thankful for what I never had as a kid. Normally I am sick for 8-9 months straight, starting with September and moving all through Fall, Winter, and Spring. Here, I JUST started getting sick.. and it's the beginning of December! Even though that isn't quite an amazing difference, to me it is. Hopefully I'll be able to kick this sickness' ass in the near future, and I can brag about how great California is again.

I have officially made my mark as a So Cal girl by moving into a beach house :) My friend Kendra from school invited me to stay (for a small price) in her house with her & her two friends until I need to move. A 10 minute walk to Huntington is one of the many great perks, although I've experienced an all over body burn just from the past two days. I guess I'm not as Mexican as I claim...
I also decided since I was making less money than I was spending at my job, that I would put in my two weeks, which in return made my boss mad, so he "fired" me. Typically what I've noticed about Orange County boys/men is that they enjoy having the last laugh. Case and point, and now back to the drawing board, time to find a new job.
Anyways, My house is awesome. We have two
pit bull mixes; Ollie (9 months) and Lucy (8 months), and a cat. Not only am I known for bruising like a peach, it doesn't help that the dogs are in "we jump on anyone that's new" phase. I think people would believe I was mulled by a dog, or at least that's what someone told me at the beach yesterday. Not only is having my own/shared place bomb, I can also come and go as I please, which is different from how my grandparents place was. We had our "last supper" last night, and I could tell they were still upset that I moved. Honestly I feel so much less stressed, and I can actually use my computer because it
OFFICIALLY hooks up to the
Internet here.
THANK GOD. Now we just need to get cable and I'm all set :)
This week is the beginning of our time "on the floor" at school, which all in all means "watch out, I might screw up your hair, but you signed a release form, so not my fault". I will die the first time I have to take a client, but it will only make me better... I hope.

This past week was so crazy busy. The fashion show came and went fast, but it was absolutely amazing. We had almost like a
porcelain goth look and I think I was the only model that had all of my clothes on. Me and a few of the girls from my school who were also in the show, stayed after and had a blast! I think it was a pretty successful night minus the fact that I lost a pair of my favorite ballet flats :(
I went to visit Kayla again and I will say nothing more of how we aren't "bad influences" on each other. We're so lucky Todd came and picked us up, because I vaguely remember starting a tab because the bartender looked like Justin
Timberlake. Who wouldn't in their right mind spend tons of money to bring "Sexy Back"? And when beer pong changes to vodka pong at 4am, I can only imagine why we woke up and reeked of a hangover. Sunday we went night swimming after another regular visit to a Mexican Restaurant. I rarely go to eat anywhere other than Mexican Restaurants, regardless if the best Mexican food can be found at my humble abode. Nathan and I purposely try to go to every place we can find, I'll bring updates on the best places in central California.
Monday should have been a day of rest or possibly to look for another job, but it was spent right by the beach in Carlsbad to visit my other grandparents on their timeshare. I can never pass up an opportunity at the beach, plus I went sailing for the first time and actually got to "drive" the boat. I'm no expert but I could wear polo's and
nautical stripes if I wanted.
I also got to be styled and on TV for
BeautyTV by Ryan
Secrest stylist in LA Wednesday. I feel like how the hell am I getting modelling opportunities while I'm in beauty school trying to be a stylist? But the perks are awesome, including being on TV. I'm sure many more opportunities will be coming my way just over the next year, i cant even imagine!
Off to school and then to watch the US Open for the first time :) I'm not necessarily a surfer girl, but
I'll watch hot surfers do their thing any day of the week!

I am such a procrastinator, I keep telling myself to update my life on my blog. I never get around to getting on the computer because I am honestly having the best time of my life! No time for any computers! I even update my facebook on my Palm before I go to bed.. or any other time I have.
Ok so can't remember the last time I wrote on here, but what I do remember (vaguely) is the absurd amount of things I did over the past 2 weeks. I snuck to Vegas a few weekends ago, which doesn't sound ridiculous other than the fact that I played hookie from school and work (whoops, cat's out of the bag). Thank God I went though, because I had the time of my life! I got invited the day before by one of the people I met at my cousin's wedding, so I had to jump on the opportunity to let loose, especially in Vegas! Thank goodness that my cuz Kayla was there because I soon came to find out what a "Lame" (because I can't publish worse words) this person was. All I have to say is what happens there was definitely suppose to stay there, but it followed me home like a lost dog, and I didn't mind it. (if I could be less vague I would be, all of these metaphors for what I really happened are too funny to stop)
Anyways, I've gone out on a couple dates just to not be self depriving, and the first guy was a "trekie" which would be cool if I was into that (by the way, I'M NOT) so luckily I've had better luck the second time around. I think it's so awkward the first time you go on a date in forever, because I honestly don't remember what dating is suppose to be like because I'm always in relationships. But it's fun and I'm learning just to not take it so seriously.
The fourth of July was less memorable only for the small reason that I was overly drunk. What I do remember is: a Luau at Seau's Restaurant in SD, Drunk
McDonald's and
In-&-Out runs, Staying in a hotel I didn't pay for, BBQ at
THE Junior Seau's beach house, Playing football with the
SD Chargers and dislocating my finger in the process, Jumping in the ocean on numerous occasions, Kayla getting a black eye...
somehow, Cases of
Patron &
Belvedere, Pacific Beach with my friend Scott, Hawkeye bar in PB, Fireworks & Fire Throwing circus freaks, Dodgers vs Padres game, $1000 tab after the game (thank you Uncle Sal!), beach day to get back to reality! I honestly can't believe that all of this occurred during one weekend and that we actually have pictures to document it.
Anyways, School is so bomb and everything is just falling into place. The dream board I made is actually on the way to coming true from what I can see. I can't wait for the weekend to go visit Kayla & Nathan to just relax all over again :)

I have been super busy! (plus my
Internet on my computer doesn't work..sad)
but
I'm here, finally :) Sunny California welcomed me well, and so far this was the best thing to happen to me yet (minus my ipod dying on me the first day I get here) We've spent so much time on looking at places and making offers, I am just hoping that everything will eventually fall into place. There is so much about the real estate business I never knew, but I've been quick to find out that with the market the way it is, I'll be lucky when I finally get a place of my own. My room in my grandparent's place has almost been completely finished. Once my car gets here (if it ever does!!) I will
officially be moved in to my temp housing. It's a pretty good deal to just make dinner once a week as rent! I haven't done much of the crazy,
outdoorsy, fun, exciting things yet. I'm still worried about finding a job or how long it will take to get to school with traffic! school starts in 2 weeks from Tuesday, I am just super excited. Finally being able to get to start beauty school is amazing. Its less surreal and more real than it has been in the past now that I'm
officially a California Resident.
My recent goal has been to get my aunt to be excited about working out. I signed up at 24 hour fitness (biggest loser here I come!) and they have tons and tons of classes to go to. We both went to a "
Zumba" class, which is more or less like Salsa/Reggae dancing with c
ardio. I felt like I was at the club!
haha. It was also my cousin David's Grad party so me & my roommates (ha) went to
congratulate him. Luckily he already has a career, but it's so exciting to see friends/family accomplish their goals. Next year around this time, I'll be throwing myself a party for my graduation :) here & at home probably.
Lakers won last night after a crazy close game. It must have been from the family putting on every type of Laker apparel/souviner that we owned, including a Lakers pancho. Yes, We are so mexican.
I do miss my friends though, even though I only saw most of them the few weeks before I left. I hope to have a lot of visitors once I get my own place, lots of parties! But until then, I'll just soak up the sun & enjoy the non-humid run in my near future.
